We’re excited to announce the launch of our beta program for Ikena X, a commercial version of our military-proven software, geared toward organizations wanting to enhance video and imagery taken by drones, robots, and other cameras. Our real-time video enhancement software has proven essential in situations where lives, time, and money are on the line by helping organizations quickly find answers in imperfect video. Ikena X allows you to see details that you may otherwise miss due to factors outside of you control.
Over the past decade, we’ve worked closely with law enforcement and the military, developing tools that help them find answers in their video to make critical decisions in extremely high-stakes situations. We’re now seeing strong growth in the commercial industry, especially given the massive adoption of drones, and we’re making our capabilities available to those that have tough problems to solve with video.
“Computer vision software, in the context of enterprise, high-stakes applications, is critical, especially with the amount of video being taken these days.”
Computer vision is making big strides in the commercial industry, but implementing it in real-time is very difficult to achieve. Helping people see important, and often missed details in live video requires several algorithms to work flawlessly together, and in less than 33 milliseconds per frame of video. Ikena X is able to achieve this.
Robert Scoble, technology guru, Rackspace Futurist, and author, said: “Computer vision and video data processing is an important piece of the puzzle that is being developed by Google, Microsoft and Facebook to help make consumers’ lives better. Computer vision software, in the context of enterprise, high-stakes applications, is critical, especially with the amount of video being taken these days. I’m watching this space, and look forward to seeing new applications in the industry.”
When lives, time and money are at stake, analysts can’t rely on having perfect conditions such as clear skies, calm winds, zero atmospheric issues, and subjects perfectly illuminated. This is where real-time video enhancement and computer vision software comes into play, helping organizations make timely decisions regardless of environmental factors.
EV, a global oilfield services company specializing in wellbore diagnosis, provides its customers with a clear understanding of complex down-hole issues. “MotionDSP worked with us to adapt its software to EV’s innovative end-to-end system for down-hole inspection, tailored to address the vast challenges specific to the oil industry,” said Federico Casavantes, VP of Marketing at EV. “The result is a new capability that enables our analysts to diagnose well integrity problems with more clarity in our customers’ wells, saving them time and money.”
MotionDSP has partnered with Aeryon Labs Inc., the premier manufacturer of small, unmanned aerial systems (sUAS), to optimize Ikena X for the Aeryon SkyRanger sUAS. Operationally deployed in over 30 countries worldwide, Aeryon sUAS set the standard for aerial image and data gathering in a range of military, public safety, and commercial applications.
“Video processing and analysis are part of the value proposition for operators of Aeryon sUAS.” said David Kroetsch, President and CEO of Aeryon Labs Inc. “The powerful capabilities of MotionDSP’s software are a great complement to the unmatched aerial video-capture abilities of the Aeryon SkyRanger. Our relationship with MotionDSP sets the stage for forthcoming value-added services as part of the Aeryon Cloud Services platform.”
If your organization is using remote cameras from drones or robots where real-time decision-making is critical, please apply online for our beta program. We are already working with organizations involved in disaster relief, law enforcement, inspection services, oil & gas, mapping and other industries, but are open to additional use cases. We’d love to hear from you!
